Planet Under Pressure 2012 will take place at the new London International Convention Centre (ICC) at Excel within one of the world's largest regeneration projects in London's Eastside. The transformation of this area of London has created an 'events district' offering the superb facilities at ICC London alongside fantastic new hotels, excellent transport links, and a variety of entertainment venues.
Access London's central location on the world's flight paths places the city as a crossroads for Asia, Europe, and the Americas allowing easy access for international delegates from all corners of the globe. An efficient and extensive public transport network allows delegates to travel to the conference venue with ease.
Both international and domestic visitors are well served by the award-winning London City Airport. Located just five minutes to the east of ICC London, the Airport operates 350 flights a day to 30 key destinations, including New York, Frankfurt, Paris, and Madrid. London's five international airports combined serve 140 overseas destinations and most of the world's major airlines - including nearly every major intercontinental and European scheduled carrier and including many low-cost airlines such as Ryanair, EasyJet, and bmi, reducing the cost of hundreds of short haul routes to continental Europe.
Access for travelers from continental Europe is further improved by the frequent high-speed Eurostar services connecting London to Paris and Brussels, with up to 30 trains a day offering connections to over 100 European destinations. An extension to the DLR will open shortly connecting Stratford International and Canning Town, with an onward 15-minute DLR journey to ICC London.
